Fluid Focus Retreats

Depth, breath, and a suspiciously good nervous system.

Freediving retreats that teach your nervous system to stop catastrophising. Breath, ocean, movement — and just enough science to make it interesting.

About Our Programs

Someone once noticed that people who spend time underwater tend to be annoyingly calm. We decided to investigate.

Fluid Focus is built on a simple hypothesis: the ocean is the best nervous system lab on the planet. Freediving gives you real-time biofeedback. Breath training gives you the tools. Yoga and movement give the body somewhere to put it all.

We run retreats across Indonesia and internationally — in places that are genuinely hard to be stressed in — and we've spent years refining a programme that's equal parts rigorous and restorative. The science is real. The marine interactions are real. The tan lines are a bonus.

More than Just Freediving

At Fluid Focus, freediving is the doorway — but what you find on the other side is a calmer, more regulated way of living. We weave water training with yoga, breathwork, meditation, and mindset practices, creating a retreat that feeds both the explorer and the scientist in you.

Our facilitators bring more than diving expertise; they carry years of training in physiology, mindfulness, and movement — fusing these into workshops that feel less like lectures and more like revelations. The result? A toolkit you’ll carry long after the retreat, ready to use whenever life gets noisy.

Accommodations and Comfort

We take pride in working with great partners. All of our accommodations are chosen to ensure that guests are comfortable and well rested, and every detail is taken care of. If something falls short, we encourage feedback. We aren’t newbies to this anymore and we are proud to say that our partnerships are at the core of what we do. Instead of jumping around to new places, we like to stick with what works, and make it better.

All of our locations offer the chance to have either shared or private accommodation. If retreats sell out and we can no longer accommodate you in the designated villa or retreat, we have overflow options depending on locations.

Upcoming Freediving Retreat Dates

We currently run retreats in four locations across Indonesia and the Pacific. They share a philosophy but not a vibe — a Bali retreat and a Tonga expedition are not the same experience. Have a proper look at each one before you commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — and opening up the world of freediving and ocean therapy to newcomers is one of our favourite things to do. Retreats are designed to provide value to guests of all experience levels. Regardless of outcome, participants consistently leave with tremendous insight into how breath, body, and water combine to empower us.
Equalisation can be tricky, but with proper preparation, time, and relaxation techniques, most students overcome this challenge. Our instructors are trained to help guests navigate a variety of obstacles — and we provide resources to study before the retreat begins, plus personalised workshops for those who need more support.
We ask guests to leave performance goals at the door and focus on the process. In freediving, strong expectations can actually become barriers. Instead, we approach training with a blend of action, practice, and surrender — working hard, but in a way that emphasises learning.

If a goal is necessary, let it be this: arm yourself with techniques that benefit you in daily life, enjoy the ocean therapy, and connect with a community of like-minded water lovers.
We monitor energy levels carefully — freediving is deceptively exhausting. Most days include morning yoga followed by 3–4 hours of freedive practice. Afternoons and evenings are reserved for workshops, personalised coaching, and rest.

A dry day mid-week gives ears and nervous systems time to recover, with optional activities for those who have the energy.
Yes — we built an 8-day immersive program at our Bali school for exactly this reason. Freedive Rehab takes participants through freediving, yoga, and workshops to introduce the holistic side of the lifestyle. Find out more here.
